MA-1 Albert Turner flight jacket for sale from my private collection.
Rare first pattern issue approx. 1955/56. Size large.
If you know about flight jackets then you know that Albert Turner are the Rolls Royce of flight jackets and extremely difficult to find in a wearable condition. In all my years collecting military flight jackets, this is the cleanest Albert Turner that I have ever come across and a rare first pattern. Look at those cuffs. Normally shot and gone even on M-A1 jackets from the 1980s.
Authentic original flight jackets come up small so please bear this in mind. I am a 40/41 inch chest and the jacket fits me fine. Ideally, I would like it a little bigger so the prefect size for this jacket in my opinion would be a 38 inch chested person.
This was made in the days when quality mattered. The MA-1 jacket is heavy and warm because the early MA-1 jackets were wool-lined. The green lining inside the MA-1 jacket is the more sought after version because the bright orange linings came later.
I'm in two minds about selling such a rare jacket so any silly offers will be ignored. The asking price is shown. Top end repros go for £400 to £500 now so I think this is a fair price. I just have never wore this jacket and the MA-1 is kept sealed in a plastic container.
